    Hello WP,

My site was supposed to be live weeks ago, but I’m having a terrific frustration with a couple of browsers.

I’m told that my site isn’t viewable with IE 6, IE 7 or AOL. It works well with FF, Safari, Chrome, iPhone and IE 8. It’s designed with the Artisteer software and I’m running Vista.

    Any ideas?

Can someone take a peek and tell me if there’s a problem with my source code? I’m a newbie, so I will likely have follow-up questions. O: )

Thanks so much for your help!

  • You’ve got lots of code errors, like missing tags that will affect display, and IE can be very unforgiving of errors. You also have style sheets for IE which may need work, and you have a meta tag that forces IE compatibility mode for IE8. Oh good gravy – now my head hurts. Thanks (I think! ; ) Songdogtech.

Can you give this newbie an example of a missing tag that affects display? (I don’t even know what to look for.)

Thanks for the look and your time – a million sincere thanks!

One more question…(and I’m beyond afeared of the answer)…is there any way to get the same look and functionality of my site with clean code?

Well, look at the validation report above and scroll down and look at the source code. You need to go through the php files in your theme and correct the code, but I’ve never used the template generator you have, so I don’t know if you have one theme file or many.

You can always look for a free theme that is valid XHTML: WordPress ? Free WordPress Themes and change the images. See also: Blog Design and Layout ? WordPress Codex
