Site not showing Product short description

Hi, I’m using the latest version of Woocommerce (3.0.7) and a child theme of Storefront (which is up to date).

For some reason I cannot edit the description that appears in the “Description” tab of an individual product.

I can edit the “short product description”. However, that is not what appears in the description tab (although it used to be! Whilst new products description tabs appear empty, old products have descriptions which have nothing to do with what is in the short product description area AND I cannot find any of that information to edit! I’m at a real loss here, can anyone help me.

The problem started just this last week since I installed the new version of woo commerce.
