• Hi guys,
this is a strange one. I was just getting started on a site and using Visual Composer. Strangely enough when I clicked on “add item” the popup box for VC opened up with the top part of it not visible on the screen. It was like the box was one inch too high on the screen rather than opening where it usually does, about an inch below the top of the screen.

I searched and found that a few people had problems with VC and they reinstalled themes etc. So I tried switching to the 2013 theme with no luck. So then I tried to delete the plugin. I was going to try delete/re-install. When I deleted the plugin it was no longer possible to open the site! LOL! Amazing! I put in the web site address and get no answer at all.

This has to be more than just a “delete the VC plugin” issue. Has anyone seen this situation where updating a plugin renders the site non responsive? And if so what is the fix for a non-responsive site? I have only done a few hours work on it so I can re-install no problems. But is would seem strange that deleting a single plug in could render a site totally non responsive. So there must be an existing easy fix for this.

    Thanks in Advance

    Joschua

  • Using your host’s control panel (cPanel) or FTP access, check and see if there is an associated folder for the Visual Composer under /wp-content/plugins/. If there is, try changing it to something else to force WordPress to ignore the plugin. For more information, please review: Common_WordPress_Errors#The_White_Screen_of_Death

Outside of that, it would be best to post a support request in the Visual Composer’s forums, as most volunteers who try to help with the WordPress forums will not have access to commercial products. This approach also helps commercial developers better manage their product.
