Hi, I updated the woocommerce to version 3.3.4. After updating the version this error appears.

    500: Internal server error

This error is generated when a script running on the server could not be implemented or permissions are incorrectly assigned for files or directories

    Troubleshooting suggestions:

Temporarily disable any rewrite rules by renaming your .htaccess file if it exists.

Ensure that any CGI or Perl scripts have at least .755. permissions.

If trying to run PHP and you get this error, you may have an invalid php.ini in your /cgi-bin, or may be missing your php.dat file in this folder.

Now I have to downgrade this plugin to version 3.3.3. please suggest me what to do with this error.

@bainsk8 and what version of PHP is your site running? Looks like others needed to upgrade from 5.3. (Note that going to 5.6 isn’t a good upgrade, would definitely recommend just getting a newer version like 7.1 when updating.) You can find the PHP version in site’s System Status Report. You can find it via WooCommerce > Status.

Ya’ll are posting access logs which are rather useless in this case, we will need PHP error logs to help further in identifying the real issue. You should talk to your web host and request PHP Error Logs.

Can also check WooCommerce > Status > Logs to see if there is any fatal error logged there.

    @icaleb

Yes your right, running 5.3.28 an old version. Have just sent a ticket off to host for an update. Thank you! ??

Also noticed on the status page that MySQL is 5.1.73. It’s also telling me an update is recommended for that too.

    Thank you again. ??

I am running an older version as well. Will update and see how that goes.

Following the advice given here by other users, I contacted my host, and they advised multiple versions of PHP were running on the shared server. I was using 5.3. They gave me this link to change the version to the higher one, which may be of use to users here:

    https://www.hostdime.com/resources/multi-php-on-shared-servers/

And I have now upgraded both sites to 5.6.24, and the Woocommerce 3.3.4 now works.

Perhaps Woocommerce might like to alert new users as to the minimum requirements for this version of the plugin. I haven’t been impressed with the response thus far.

Yes updating PHP and MySQL fixed all the problems.

    A big thank you @icaleb and @adil1641 ??

Updating PHP to 7.1 fixed this for me too.
