Site name in slider header

Hi all. I have an issue with the header. I love the slider option but for some reason when I select that in theme options, the website only shows the sample text from the theme – “Just another Word Press Site” and “Welcome to Delicate Theme” and not my site name and motto. If I choose a static image in the theme options, it correctly displays the text. I am sure I am missing something obvious. Thanks in advance for any input.
