• Hello guys,

can users have different name for their username and site name during site registration?

    For example: mysite.com/mybeautifulsite
    Username: myname

Currently, Multisite uses site name (mybeautifulname) as the user username, and this can not be changed.

This also has security implications as hackers can guess the user username….

    Thank you for your support.

    regards, strategizeme

Yes. And you CAN change the sitename and username unless your theme/plugins prevent it from doing so. It does default to the same, but tis always been changeable.

Mika, thank you. Current theme doe snot allow me to, though.

You can change it in the Network Admin.

Go to domain.com/wp-admin/network and click on sites, then edit the site in question.

Keep in mind, changing that will not go back in time and change all your old posts/media files.
