    Hi there

I would like to generate a new sitemap xml after making a lot of changes to my site. I’m not sure where this file is created and by which application or application. Is it automatically regenerated?

I also suspect that WordPress, Google Site Kit, and Yoast are all acting somewhat independently of each other regarding the sitemap.xml file.

How do I “ask” one of the apps to generate a new one, make it authoritative and canonical, place it in the correct location of the web server, and ask Google to re-index the site. And from there, to do this on an ongoing basis.

Am I missing something? Or in fact, is everything already working properly? I’m getting lots of Google Search Console errors saying that it’s finding duplicate, non-canonical versions of pages, posts and digital assets.

    Thanks!

    Paul

Hi @porldubya thanks for getting in touch. Site Kit does not have any options for your sitemap xml currently.

I’d recommend in this instance opening a topic on to the Yoast support forum for further assistance with your sitemap xml.

If you do encounter any issues with Site Kit or have any questions on the plugin then please let us know and we will be happy to help.
