I downloaded the plugin and everything works except for the sitemap. It shows that there are 0 site maps when I go to /sitemap.xml or it will direct me to /sitemap_index.xml where it has zero links. It does NOT go to a 404 error, it goes to a sitemap with nothing there. It says 0 links. So I deleted the plugin, purged varnish and reinstalled it where it didn’t actually erase the plugin, but that is besides the point.
The server is nginx and the only caching I have is WordFence. I have saved the perms links to help ‘push’ it to going live too.
Any ideas on how to get the sitemap to work? I know it can work as I installed it on a different site and operating system. I installed Yoast to see if it’s sitemap would work and it does, I uninstalled it, so I am hoping that I can get this to work. Thank you in advance!

If it helps it is WordPress multi site with Domain Mapping. And we have EasyEngine.io.

Make sure you turn off the Enable Sitemap Indexes option in the XML Sitemap settings.

It was already turned off. Currently the only things checked are:
    Link From Virtual Robots.txt
Dynamically Generate Sitemap (this is already checked, but without the option of unchecking it)
    Filename Prefix is sitemap
    Post Types: Pages

Then this is what it says in the box:
    2016-03-25 16:08:52 Updated sitemap settings.
2016-03-25 16:08:52 Did not notify bing about changes to your sitemap.

Then you have a caching issue because the plugin is generating indexed sitemaps.
