    Don’t know if this is cause and effect, but after upgrading to WP 2.7, my website is displayed incorrectly when using IE7. It looks as expected in FF3, Opera and Chrome. I even reverted to one of the default themes and made sure I’m not using any plugins just to make sure the problem is not related to a misbehaving theme or plugin – no luck. I’ve upgraded using Fantastico, but I also tried manually upgrading using the instructions on the WP site. I’ve not tweaked any code on the site and IE7 Security settings are set to default (medium high).

    One more factoid, I created a new site from a fresh install (installed from Fantastico) of WP 2.7 and it appears perfectly in IE7.

    url of problematic site https://pcrebellion.com

    url of site created from fresh WP 2.7 install: https://crankygenius.com

    I’ve searched this forum to find solutions to similar problems reported by others, but can’t find one quite like mine.

    Any ideas?

  • I took a look to the source3 code of the crashed site and found something like this:
    <!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 </xml><![endif]--><!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> </xml><![endif]--><!-- -->
    everythink after that lines in your source doesn′t appear; so maybe thats the problem …

    yes, thats it. I elimineted the conditional comments and reloaded in IE7 and it works …

    have you copy & paste from an Microsoft Application?

    Looks like I had two posts that were written using Word and pasted into WordPress. Although I don’t recall exactly doing that, but it makes sense.

    Word to the wise (no pun intended), pasting from Word also pastes markup code – https://faq.wordpress.com/2006/11/09/why-not-to-use-word/

    Thanks for your help.
