    Hey Sybre

I thought I would ask you this question as you are such a brilliant guy and perhaps it is an issue I can fix in the SEO Framework settings.

I have just built a new site that is mostly coded in css with very few images. Load speed is great.

I have a very small and basic site logo (110px by 40px) that sits in the sticky menu at the top left of the page. It is simply the name of the site with a black 1px rectangle border around it.

The problem is when I post a link to my home URL in twitter or in skype. When the tweet or post on skype appears it displays my logo which is all distorted and ugly.

Can I make a new (dummy logo) that can be accessed by social media? What size should I make it? And how can I ensure that twitter or skype grab the dummy image to insert in a tweet or post?

Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.

I hope you and your family are well.

    Kind Regards

    Max

What amazing customer service you guys provide.

Yes…I was an early adopter of the SEO framework and I already provided my 5 stars. Back then I wrote the following. And now a year and a half down the track my opinion has not changed one bit:

    ————————-
    No bloat and nags.

    Simple and intuitive interface.

    All required functionality.

Swift, polite and meaningful replies from Sybre.

    Free.

Don’t bother sifting through all the others, The SEO Framework is the best
    ————————-

I am frankly amazed why you guys do not have 1 million + active installs.

It is sad to think that people can not see through the BS and hype surrounding other SEO solutions and switch your plugin, a simple, robust and quality product with first class support.

Anyway Lebaux. Thanks for the video. The social platform I am having problems with is twitter. Does twitter also have a debugging/scraping web page like the FB one you visited in your video?

    Kind Regards

Hey Max, Twitter has it’s own thing, it is called Card Validator, but it is less useful than Facebook’s tool. It should purge and cache again the image upon each validation, but it is not reliable from my experience. Some other users discussed it here and found some workarounds.

On a personal note — thank you for kind words! Delivering premium–grade support is extremely time consuming, so I’m helping @cybr with less complex stuff. This way, he can focus on TSF itself. He says hi, by the way ??

Also thank you for the rating, we appreciate it. If you want to help us further, just spread the word about the plugin! If everyone would do just that, it would be more than enough. Want to take it step further? You can for example help us with translations. Absolutely ultra top thing to do, is to go premium and take advantage of extended functionality. Of course, you don’t need to do any of those things, we don’t like telling people what to do.

To be perfectly frank, userbase is not growing as fast as it might because TSF doesn’t indulge in aggressive marketing tactics or ask people to rate on every admin page in wordpress administration. You hardly even find there is a premium offering in form of extension ?? The growth comes mainly from good support and new features. The new 3.0 release is now in BETA and it introduces pixel counter and other goodies.

Lastly, other SEO plugins done a lot throughout the history and they deserve their users. They helped WordPress grow as a platform. Sure, they are competition, but competition is good for end user because it forces everybody to do their best. AIO had monopoly, and it was challenged by YOAST. Now TSF challenges both of them, and boy, it is and uphill battle! Have a nice day ??

I have uploaded a new image as per your instructions and it now works fine on twitter. I check the card validator page.

However I use skype alot and I noticed today that the image used when I post the url for my site on skype is still the distorted small logo.

Do you know where skype pulls the image from. And how can I ensure it pulls the new social image I have uploaded and set in TSF.

    Kind Regards

    Max

Skype is Microsoft, and Microsoft is not exactly forthcoming in this regard. I imagine they pull the data same way Facebook or Twitter does, but I haven’t managed to find any tool/option to purge the cache. In other words, you are at Microsoft’s mercy. Unfortunately, since this is 3rd. party issue, I can only recommend you try seeking help from skype itself. My guess is, they will update the data in span of 30 days. Maybe less, maybe more, probably depends on popularity of your website. Maybe the meta data are cached only locally (only on your PC), so others don’t have this issue. But this is pure speculation, try sharing the URL on other devices. In the end, the issue should resolve itself in time. If it doesn’t, or you find the answer to your question elsewhere, please let us now. Thanks for understanding.
