Site Lockout Notification become annoying

  • Hi there

    I installed this plugin and set up in Intrusion Detection page both checkboxes for Enable 404 Detection and Email 404 Notifications to off/uncheck and I still receive Site Lockout Notification emails. I understand the plugin is doing it’s job but all I want it not receiving this notification emails. From time to time I check the 404 page in order to keep my site clean.
    What can I do to stop receiving emails?

  • I too am receiving Email notifications for Site Lockout even though I have the notifications unchecked (turned off). This just started recently. It is a bug that needs to be fixed asap.

    Hi guys,

    I was getting too may lockout notifications too. After some research, I figured that those are bots trying to really login to my wordpress sites. I manage about 50-60 sites and have my own servers. I also noticed that those attacks are only happening on my sites where I did not “hide the admin area”, i.e change /wp-admin to something else.

    After I enabled that option and renamed wp-admin, all the bot attacks stopped. Ofcourse you have to be careful if you are using any other login plugins and modify the code to work with the changes but that definitely fixed it for me.

    The problem is I have email notifications turned off. I am still getting email notifications. This is the same thing for two different websites… Finally, I turned off the 404 Detection and the File Change Detection all together… and I am STILL getting emails.

    I have the same issue. Lockout notification emails continue to come even after the option is unchecked.

    Hi all — the only fix I found for this is to put in a fake email address (ex: [email protected])

    This is an issue on several sites on different servers. Confirming this is a bug in need of a fix.
