I have this plugin activated on my site and notice that it take pages much longer to load than when it was deactivated.

With my preloader plugin I can see that it gets stuck at 70% for a few long seconds before progressing further and loading fully.

    My settings are as follows:

Page Cache – Enabled – Memcached
    Minify – Not Enabled
    Opcode – Opcode: Zend Opcache
Database Cache – Enabled – Memcached
Object Cache – Enabled – Memcached
    Browser Cache – Enabled
    CDN – Not Enabled
    Fragment Cache – Memcached

    Hello @niallasd

Thank you for reaching out and I am happy to assist you with this.

Can you please share the URL of the preloader plugin? Also, can you please re-activate W3 Total Cache so I can check the performance?

    Thanks!

The plugin has now been reactivated – and the Preloader Plus URL can be found here.

    Hello @niallasd

    Thank you for your feedback.
I’ve checked your website now and I can see that the W3TC is enabled, however I am not seeing the problem. Once the Preloader page starts, it loads to 100% within one second.
This is for both mobile and Desktop. Can you please share on which Browser you are checking the website so I can check this and try to replicate the problem?

    Thanks!

The problem occurs in Chrome, I’m just after testing on Firefox on the same laptop and it loads fine.

I tried disabling all extensions in Chrome, but the problem persists.

    Hello @niallasd

    Thank you for your feedback.
I’ve tested in chrome, firefox, safari… I am seeing no problems with loading the page or other pages while browsing your website.
Can you please try incognito and also try clearing yoru browser’s cache?

    Thanks!

It works fine in incognito mode, but clearing cookies and image cache hasn’t fixed it, very strange…

    Hey @niallasd

Thank you for your feedback. Again, it works as expected on my end. Have you tried using another computer or checked the mobile if the problem is the same there?

    Thanks!

Here’s what I tried and the results:

Chrome on laptop – slow, sticks at 70% for several seconds
Firefox on laptop – loads fine
Chrome on mobile phone – slow, sticks at 70% for several seconds
Samsung browser on mobile phone – loads fine

It seems to be something to do with Chrome, though not extensions or cookies.

Hmmmm, an update to my last post:

Chrome on laptop – slow, sticks at 70% for several seconds
Firefox on laptop – slow, sticks at 70% for several seconds
Chrome on mobile phone – loads fine
Samsung browser on mobile phone – loads fine

Don’t understand why it has changed from my previous post…

    Hello @niallasd

I’ve checked this again and again, and the result is always the same for me. The screen loads to 100% in a second. At no point the loading is stuck at 70%.

    Thanks!

It seems to be something to do with my system and some sort of clash with W3 Total Cache and how I’ve set it up – I have other sites with this plugin that load fine.

    Thanks
