site loading slowly – simple WordPress site with few plugins

Try to deactivate WP Super Cache plugin.
You can try deactive all of them for test, but it looks like issue of your hosting, not your site.

Also keep in mind, that site can put down just one plugin or one line of code. It is not important how many plugins you use, but if plugins have quality code, are set up correctly and can exist together.

Thanks Peter. For the first site. I have no plugin installed except the default Akismet. It is very slow. For the second one I only have one plugin, the WP Super Cache. So plugins should not be the issue here. I tried the P3 plugin test for my second site, and the plugin accounts for less than 5% of the slowing down. I do not know what else could be the issue.

If it is the hosting, all my sites should be equally slow, but as you see one is still loading two times faster than the other one.

Does anyone have this problem? Most websites I use everyday are fast. Why mine is so slow?

which one load two time faster? ?? for me both loads forever.
I dont know about your hosting company, but fast checked them, they start at 4$/month. Today you can have for 5$/month hosting that your websites will fly ?? and will use the latest technology, not 10 years old machines.

Do you think Cloudflare would make a difference?

Cloudflare can help little bit, but its not solution for low hosting. On other side, if you will use quality hosting, then you don’t need cloudflare basically.
Why pay for that service if they can not handle basic WP site? its not hosting, its just machine for money in this case. You pay them and their solution is that you use another service.

Good idea would be to search for quality hosting … it does not mean automatically, that you will pay much more.
Keep in mind, that quality hosting is not the same as hosting with quality marketing ??

You are absolutely right. Do you have any suggestions of a few quality hostings that are affordable?

What is the reasonable loading time that you would tolerate with. I am building a site to promote my photography business and I think my potential clients would tolerate the current speed.

I will go with company in the states. Hostpapa is said to be the No. 1 in Canada, and the customer service really sucks, making me wait for a long time on their online chat support.
