Site Loading Slow

A couple weeks ago, I was hacked and took it as an opportunity to rebuild and change templates. I love my new theme and the site looks much better. The theme is also much easier to use.

Unfortunately, since changing the theme, I find the site is loading very slowly and I am not sure why. My first reaction is image size, but I did a test post with no images and it loads slowly too. (Bosa Travel Blog Theme)

Any and all advice welcomed. I would also love to have some plugin recommendation that would help the process for optimizing image sizes. (Especially those already published.) I have a couple hundred unpublished posts from rebuilding, but I want to resolve the speed issue before reposting them. (Many need images reading after rebuilding.)
