    Hi,

I have built numerous WordPress sites, I resize images to get the correct size, I optimise them using ImageAlpha and ImageOptim. But for this site, it is really slow. I have tried a number of cache plugins, I tend to use WP Fastest Cache but for some reason, I am unable to download/install it on this site.

The only difference is this site is hosted on GoDaddy & an API Key for local tracking, all my other sites are on Krystal Hosting & UK Fast and don’t have any API Keys. All my other sites load between 2-4secs.

Navigating the site is slow, logging into the back end is slow and updating plugins are slow. All plugins and the PHP are up to date. The theme developer says there is no problem with the theme etc.

GT Metrix has the site loading between 7 and 9 seconds! I know that is slow for an initial load but, navigating, logging in to the wp-admin and updating plugins shouldn’t be slow right?

I am stumped & any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi @project82,

While navigating your site I didn’t notice a particular slowness but then tested with Lighthouse and got these results for Desktop and Mobile.

Make sure your software is up to date and you could also try deactivating plugins and check if the speed improves but in general if the server-side is slow even after deactivating plugins, then it’s something you’ll have to bring to your hosting provider’s attention.

You could also try the following plugin which should help specifically to improve performance for websites with WooCommerce:

Thank you for the advice Mirko P.

I will check the plugins out & deactivate some existing plugins.
