Good plugin, however when I activated the plugin it slows down the WordPress backend and the 508 resource limit is reached error is coming frequently. Is there any fix for this?

Good morning to you too, and thanks for opening a support topic. While we’re always looking to improve the performance of how Site Kit operates in the WordPress backend panel I’d be happy to check your setup and see if I can spot anything unusual that may be contributing to the performance in your case.

Please share the following and we can check your setup:

    1. Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.
    2. Did you notice this resource limit previously or did this just start to occur recently?
    3. Have you tried disconnecting any of the connected modules or checked for the same by temporarily deactivating any other third party plugins?

Once we have the above we can inspect your current setup and hosting environment. Based on your query I’ll also check with the team how https requests are performed in the wp-admin panel.

I submitted my info via the form.

The 508 error comes when the Site Kit plugin is activated.

    3. Have you tried disconnecting any of the connected modules or checked for the same by temporarily deactivating any other third party plugins?
I tried disabling all the plugins except Site kit and enabling the default WP theme, but still the same.

Many thanks for sharing and providing the additional insights. While I didn’t notice anything unusual with your setup I will check this with the team and report back to you here.

In the meantime for testing purposes are you able to setup a clean WordPress install from where we can perform some additional tests?

I did also notice you have your PHP time limit set to 30. While this shouldn’t be an issue it’s a low compared to most setups. You can change the max_execution_time to 100 from your hosting control panel or php.ini file to check whether the same occurs.

Thanks! I set the max_execution_time to 100 and it worked!

Great to hear it! From checking your site setup further your page builder and theme may have additional scripts loaded in the admin panel, so I suspect there may have been a few different factors involved. Regardless be sure to let us know if you encounter any further queries and we’d be happy to help.

Just to follow up with you based on your initial query I spoken to the team and various optimisations are performed on the wp-admin site when it comes to normal Site Kit operations on the WordPress administrator panel, these include the below:
    – Caching is applied on the client side – every hour
    – Module/service related resources are only loaded one a user activates that module
    – Ongoing code review and API upgrades

In your case there may also be CDN and non default page editing features that could have been potentially impacting your server time outs.

I hope the above is of help. Be sure to get in touch with any other questions.
