    Today I installed Site Kit by Google and it stopped my website from working and I couldn’t log into the WP Console.

    A very helpful guy explained how to disable it, which has brought my website up again, thankfully!

    I would very much like to install Site Kit, but have no faith in it now.
    Unfortunately I don’t have the error anymore, but it was a script failure of some sort. Has anyone else had this issue?

    Thanks

  • @cliffyb thanks for the topic and sorry to hear about the issue you experienced. It’s not common, so I’m not quite sure what occurred in your case but we’d be glad to troubleshoot with you.

    Could you provide your Site Health information in case we can spot anything known? thank you

    HI,
    Thanks for the response.
    I don’t have the “Site Health” option available.
    Do I need to update something?

    I’ve found the error –
    “Fatal error: Call to undefined function Google\Site_Kit\Core\Assets\wp_styles() in /websites/123reg/LinuxPackage22/ha/nd/co/handcosteopathy.co.uk/public_html/wp-content/plugins/google-site-kit/includes/Core/Assets/Assets.php on line 115”

    Thanks

    @cliffyb thanks for your reply!

    Site Health was introduced in WordPress 5.2. Could you confirm which version of WordPress you’re using? For Site Kit, the minimum required version is WordPress 4.7 (PHP 5.6).

    My WordPress install is out of date. I will back it up, upgrade and try again.

    Many thanks for your help.
