    Hello,

After upgrading to the latest version 1.32.0, Site Kit started adding multiple ?_ga=[random number] tags automatically to the URLs within the same domain (e.g., when I click in a product category, it adds the tag). The URL looks like his mydomain.com/category/subcategory/?_ga=[random number].
After some research I figured out that this is used for cross-domain tracking. However, as I mentioned the plugin is adding this tracking code to the URL automatically and I couldn’t find a way to disable it. The only thing that solves the issue is to remove the GA snippet added by Site Kit.

I don’t understand how the Analytics Help Center could help me in this case.
This topic here (https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1034342?hl=en) says that the tracking tags are added to the URL via the GA snippet code, by inserting the {‘allowLinker’: true} code directly into the snippet.
Because Site Kit generates the GA snippet, it only makes sense that the issue relies with Site Kit. Plus, it started happening only after updating to version 1.32.0.

    Hi @abdullahramzan,

Ok, the snippet is active now. The issue occurs when you navigate to a product subcategory via the header menu, then a tracking tag is added to the URL.

    Regards,

    Hello @tiagosartor3 ,

Thank you so much for your quick followup.

By inspecting your site I can see URL query string issue is only appeared with Product Categories/Subcategories. It seems the issue is due to the Facebook for WooCommerce plugin.

To troubleshoot this can you please follow the below steps:

    1. Install and activate the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin.
    2. Navigate to “Plugins > Health Check & Troubleshooting > Troubleshoot”.
    3. From the same screen click on the “Available Plugins” tab at the top right and then click on the “Enable” option next to “Site Kit by Google”
    4. Visit the product category page again & check if its appearing

You can exit troubleshooting mode afterwards.

    Hi @abdullahramzan,

I did as instructed and it seems that when using the troubleshooting mode the tracking tag is not added to the URL, even if the Facebook for WooCommerce plugin is activated.
After that, I tried disabling just the Facebook for WooCommerce plugin (with troubleshooting mode turned off), but in this case the google tracking tag was still being added to the URL.

    Regards,

    Hello @tiagosartor3 ,

I did as instructed and it seems that when using the troubleshooting mode the tracking tag is not added to the URL, even if the Facebook for WooCommerce plugin is activated.

Good to know tracking tag disappeared in the troubleshooting mode. To find out the conflicting plugin you can re-enable the plugins one by one in troubleshooting mode to determine the plugin with cross domain tracking integration.

If you’re unable to find the plugin responsible then we’d be happy to setup a similar environment and assist.

    Best Regards,

    Hello @tiagosartor3 ,

    Happy Monday!

    Hello @abdullahramzan,

Sorry for the delayed response. I was not able to detect if there was any other plugin interfering with Site Kit. Maybe under the troubleshooting mode the plugins behave differently (?) I honestly don’t know.

    Best regards,

    @tiagosartor3 ,

You need to re-enable plugins one by one in troubleshooting mode to locate the exact conflicted plugin by visiting product category page.

I have tested Site Kit with Hello Elementor theme along with the Woo installation. I didn’t see any conflict with the theme.

    Best Regards,

@tiagosartor3 Checking in here –?are you still having trouble?
