Site Kit: Infinite Installation Loop
-
I’ve followed the troubleshooting steps. I’ve disabled all non-default plugins. I’ve tried install SiteKit using the “private window” suggestion. I’ve switched my active theme to 2019. No luck.
Site Health is “Good” with no critical issues. The SiteKit installation process gets to the “success” message and creates a Dashboard option. However, selecting the Dashboard admin option goes back to /wp-admin/admin.php?page=googlesitekit-splash .
I did get to the screen where I give SK access to my Google info. But the same problem crops up.
Not sure what else can be done.

@tompkinsjournal Can you follow the steps below and inform me if you are able to proceed with setup?
1. Temporarily switch your “WordPress Address (URL)” and “Site Address (URL)” from https://upstatenypolitics.com to https://upstatenypolitics.com in your WordPress General Settings configuration, which should trigger a change in the Site Kit authentication service as you’re already connected
2. Logout of your WordPress admin dashboard
3. Log back in and then undo the changes you made (reverting back to the full address with https
4. Reset Site Kit and attempt setup once moreIf you encounter the same error please inform me at what stage does it bring you back to your admin panel (ie. do you see the success message) and the full URL with parameters you see in your address bar at this stage.
The Site Kit dashboard widget (as well as the admin menu items) appeared after I changed the URLs to http and then logged out/logged back in.
Thanks for the assist.
@tompkinsjournal Perfect, glad to hear that worked for you. Be sure to leave the plugin a review on your experience.
