I also tried the troubleshooting procedure as suggested and the problems are still occurring with only Site Kit and the default theme turned on.

@ned4spd8874 thanks for all the information that’s helpful. Could I please confirm if there are there any server-side security or firewall measures on your site or at your host?

I have WordFence installed on WP, the server-side is Ubuntu on AWS running a LEMP stack. UFW is installed, but not currently active.

@ned4spd8874 Are you able to try setting up a fresh new WordPress install on the same host with just Site Kit installed and see if you get the same happen on this site?

Also, if you have another host you can test this on it would be great to know if you get the same there but not a problem if this is not possible.

I don’t think I’ll be able to do that. It took me weeks to get this instance up and running, I just don’t have the time to do that right now.

@ned4spd8874 No problem at all. While we continue to troubleshoot this would it be possible for you to temporarily disable WordFence or any other web firewall and try accessing Site Kit once more?

Still doesn’t work with them disabled. Same two problems.

@ned4spd8874 Thanks for confirming this. As well as the initial error reported here, I can see API errors:

Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 400 (Bad Request)

This has more context in the Site Kit error Request parameter is empty: metrics..
It does look like the metrics query parameter is in the request, so it may be that something on the web server is stripping this out before it reaches WordPress.

Is this something that you could check with your hosting provider to ensure that nothing is being stripped out from these requests which could be causing your issues.

I have been working on resolving the critical errors that the Health Kit was showing, so now the errors on the console under the Site Kit are slightly different. The metrics one is still there along with others.

The site is basically self hosted on an Amazon AWS instance, there isn’t the typical host like godaddy or hostgator that could be stripping things.
