We’ve been using site kit for about a year without issues, but suddenly it is causing major issues with my site. My website is running way slower then normal, as well as my backend. I also get the following messages in my site health:
Loopback requests are used to run scheduled events, and are also used by the built-in editors for themes and plugins to verify code stability.

The loopback request to your site failed, this means features relying on them are not currently working as expected.
Error: cURL error 28: Operation timed out after 10002 milliseconds with 0 bytes received (http_request_failed)

    and

The REST API is one way WordPress, and other applications, communicate with the server. One example is the block editor screen, which relies on this to display, and save, your posts and pages.

The REST API request failed due to an error.
Error: cURL error 28: Operation timed out after 10001 milliseconds with 0 bytes received (http_request_failed)

    Why is this happening?

Hi @aliciad7 and thanks for reaching out. cURL errors often need to be addressed at the hosting level. However, before discussing with your host I would be happy to check a few things from my side to see if I can notice anything in your setup that could be causing this. Please could you provide the following information:

Your Site Health information via this form.
Where is your current location and do you know the location of the server your site is on? Has it recently changed?

I am currently located in LA, CA, I am unsure of where our server is located.

@aliciad7 thanks for filling out the Site Health Information form. Looking at the form I can see that you have several active plugins on your site. It would be good to rule out any conflicts before exploring further.

We have a troubleshooting guide here which you can follow that makes use of the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This will highlights if there are any plugin or theme conflicts that could be causing this problem. Let me know how you get on with that.

Could I please also ask who your hosting provider is?

Thanks for your care and support my hosting provider is wordpress

I tried troubleshooting my plugins by deactivating all aside site kit, and one by one reactivating. Unfortunately I believe it is google site kit. Every plugin I reactivated caused interference when run with google site kit also activated.

    My server host is Dreamhost.

@aliciad7 thanks for providing the information and trying the troubleshooting steps. As there looks to be no plugin conflict and that you are not getting any issues within the Site Kit plugin itself I would recommend reaching out to your host as these cURL errors are typically hosting related and they may be able to help you with these.

The use of Site Kit should not be causing performance issues with your site and these error messages don’t seem to be Site Kit specific.

Please do let me know if your host helps with this issue or if there are any follow up questions after discussing with them that I can help with.

As we didn’t receive a response I’ll mark this as resolved. Feel free to open a new support topic if you continue to encounter issues, or reopen this topic and we’d be happy to assist.
