I am using UpdraftCentral dashboard on my remote site. I monitor 24 sites from the dashboard. For the past two weeks, it seems that the site key for every site has quit working if I use the “dashboard” button for a site. Instead of taking me to the dashboard of that site, I am taken to the home page of that site with an address that looks like: xxxxes.org/?udcentral_action=login&login_id=1&login_key=asdfg12345sdfgflxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

The remote dashboard is Version 0.8.28

The theme is Beaver Builder Child Theme, no modifications, only plugins are UpdraftCentral, UpdraftPlus, and Beaver Builder.

If I create a new site key it will work. I’m just wondering why the existing keys all quit working.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @flash-mcdirt ,

Apologies for the inconvenience caused and thanks for explaining the issue.

We have performed a series of test to explore and experience the same issue as you mentioned. After some time trying, also since you mentioned about you being taken to the home page instead of the admin dashboard when clicking the Dashboard menu/button, we found out that this issue might occur when you create a new site key and register the key for adding the corresponding site on your UpdraftCentral dashboard but then later the WP user account that you used to create the key got removed from the site where the key was created. As a result, since the WP account doesn’t longer exist so you will be redirected to the home page instead of the admin dashboard. However, we’re not sure if it’s the same case as yours, could you please confirm that it happened to all your 24 sites or just a few?.

    Thanks
    Anthon

I am having (almost) the same problem. In my case, it shows the grey screen with the message “There has been a critical error on this website.” If I refresh the page, it goes to the homepage.

I have not deleted the WP admin user who created the key.

Another doubt: Can it be due to the custom login URL I am using on my site? (I don’t personally think so as UpdraftCentral uses the key for logging in.)

FYI, I am trying to login to the site from my UpdraftCentral dashboard located at updraftcentral.com.

    Thanks.

    Hi @daskm

Apologies for the delay and inconvenience.

Could you please give us the link of the custom login URL plugin that you use on your website, so that we can download, investigate and perform a test to it.

Actually, our team is still investigating this issue but we haven’t managed to reproduce it. If it’s something that happens due to plugin conflicts then if it’s not too much asking could you please send us a copy of your site information and paste here, this information can be found under the “Site Health” tools menu, you can fetch it by clicking on the “Copy site info to clipboard” button.

    Thanks
    Anthon
