• Hi there,

    I have just moved my site onto a live server from local (manually) and although everything looks good on wordpress’s site preview, major portions of the webpage are completely blank. The menu is there, but the pictures from the slider are missing as well as featured posts. The articles page isn’t as severely damaged.

    Although I’ve added additional coding (CSS), I’ve tried deleting it all and republishing it, no dice. I’ve also tried deactivating all plugins, no changes. I’ve contact my host and they say everything is working and php is up to date. I’m getting to the stage where I’m wondering if there’s an issue with the theme (which seems unlikely because I used Business Sento – a pretty basic template) or wordpress itself.

    Is it normal for the site to look completely fine in the preview, even though it’s rife with errors on the live page?

    I’m open to any suggestions! I’d really rather not have to remake the site.

    The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Navigate to your site and hit F12. This will bring up inspection tools.

    Click on “Console”. You’ll see a number of errors there about items that refused to load.

    Hover your mouse over the link to those items. You’ll see that the address is still “localhost”. You’ll need to change the link to those items from localhost to the hosted images on your website. Then everything should work fine.

    Is there an alternate way to do this on a mac? F12 doesn’t accomplish that on my system

    Figured it out how to access the console.

    However – It looks like there are issues with the locations for the images being used for the slider and feature images… how to I remedy this? Also, even though the images are still linked to my local server somehow, that doesn’t account for why the excerpts under the feature images aren’t visible…

    I welcome any suggestions!

    @kjodle any other suggestions?

    I’ve managed to get the slider to show, but the featured posts still aren’t visible, and neither are the social icons or the header logo.

    I still see this file in the Console giving you issues:

    As for featured posts, I just don’t see any source code for those. This may be a theme-related issue. You may want to consult the theme developer (if you got your theme from www.remarpro.com, there is a dedicated support forum for theme questions here).
