My site is down every day for about 3 to 18 minutes (according to JetPack plugin reports). I can’t login to wp-admin, FireFox throws an error message ‘Error establishing a database connection’.
I have another website hosted with HostPapa, it is pure HTML, and there are no issues with that one as I check it every time my WordPress website is down.
I disabled all plugins for one day, including JetPack and Easy Coming Soon plugin. I was checking the website manually every hour, and it was down again.
I had also tried switching to different themes (I’m building on Smpl Skeleton, but I did try to switch to Twenty Twelve, Twenty Thirteen, and Twenty Fourteen) but the problem persists.
One day the whole menu was messed up, it was giving 404 error on all pages except the homepage. After a few hours it all cam back to normal.
Anyone having anything similar? Is this WP issue, or should I contact my hosting company?
Giving a link to the website is pointless as it leads to Coming Soon page anyways…

  • Contact your host. The error usually means WP cannot connect to your database because it’s down.

Thank you Paul! I have contacted my host, waiting on reply! Just wanted to make sure it is not a WP issue as such. Cheers!
