• I can’t believe that due to a f***ing automatic update I never asked for my whole site is down. And nobody is there to help. Where are the developers of WordPress ? Are they not able to resolve what’s happened ?

  • WordPress is a FREE and opensource community. Especially over here at www.remarpro.com, you wont find any paid developers to help you. If that’s what your after, I suggest a transfer over to WordPress.com where you’ll need to pay a premium to use their services.

You need to resolve the issue yourself, you’ll have to reach out to your host provider, or you’ll have to pay an experienced developer to help you.

Drupal is also FREE and OPENSOURCE.

And will Drupal update your site without your knowledge and after that your site is completely broken ? Sure not.

And it’s symptomatic that’s nobody is willing to help. Did I cause this by myself ?

“You need to resolve the issue yourself…”
    Thanks for this great tip.

I spent a lot of hours to build up this website and due to a brainless
behavior all my work is gone.

So the issue is that you need urgent support but aren’t receiving that from these forums?

Well you asked me a question weather there are tech people here to help. I was just letting you know there are not, as WordPress is open source and free.

Anyone helping here is helping out of kindness and love of the platform.

The thought of Drupal makes me cringe, just a bit.

Contact your host and just roll back to the previous working version. I’d bet that one of your plugins is incompatible with 3.8.2. That or its your theme.

Now I was able to login. I deleted the .htaccess which I uploaded to get an extra login screen before wp login.

    First thing the update broke.

“You do not appear to have any plugins available at this time.”

All plugins are gone. Second thing the update broke.

ERROR: The theme directory “twentyfourteen” does not exist.

Also this and my custom theme are gone.

    Third thing the update broke.
