    Hi,

I think what you mean is that you have already setup a Privacy Policy page but now don’t want one? If so, this is what you do to remove the link in the footer of your site …

    1) Log into WordPress
    2) In the dashboard click “Settings” then “Privacy”
    3) Click the dropdown menu next to “Select a Privacy Policy page” and select “— Select —”
    4) Click “Use This Page”

    Hope that helps,

    Oliver

    Hi,
your friendly tip switches off the complete WordPress Privacy Policy Page-Feature. That wouldn’t help for example with the comment-feature.

I only want to switch off the widget in the Site Info Widget Area.

Thank You for more help ??

    Hi,

If you’ve put a widget in the Site Info widget area and need to remove it then do the following …

    1) Log into WordPress
    2) In the dashboard click “Appearance” then “Widgets”
    3) Click to expand the “Site Info” widget area
    4) Click to expand the widget you wish to remove
    5) At the bottom of the widget panel click “Delete”

When the Site Info widget area has no widgets, it is not displayed.

    Does that help?

    Hi Oliver,
unfortunatly it didn’t help. There is only one (my own) html-widget in the “Site Info” widget area. This widget contains a link to my Privacy Policy Page. I don’t need two links. And therefore I don’t need this new feature of your excellant Plugin.

Maybe it helps if you know, that I am using a child theme.

Thank Yiu for much more help ??

OK, then my first suggestion is what you want to do. As it is the WordPress Privacy Policy feature that is creating the link you don’t want so you need to turn it off.

Our plugin is not creating this link.

Turning off this feature of WordPress (Privacy Policy) will not remove the link you have in your widget.

    Kind regards,

    Oliver

Please excuse my very bad English!
The link to the Privacy Policy Page appeared after I updated your plugin a few minutes ago. Before that there was no second widget in the “Site Info” widget area.

But you are right, if I switch off the WordPress Privacy Policy feature the link disappeares. If I switch on the feature, the link appears again. But only if I am logged in as an admin. Otherwise the link is not present.
    Mysterious.

But thanks a lot to spend so much time to support me!!!

Yes, WordPress updated the core and Twenty Seventeen theme to accommodate the new Privacy Policy feature.

As the plugin was, this new WordPress feature was completely blocked by our plugin’s code to remove the “Proudly Powered by WordPress” text so we had to issue an update to allow users who wanted to make use of this new feature to be able to.

    Glad you’re sorted,

    Oliver
