When I enter the dashboard I always see 3 o 4 sites in orange status with the message: “Site Health: Should be improved”

I click to see what’s going on with that site, but 100% of the time, I don’t see anything at all:

Then I refresh the list by Syncing the dashboard, and the message “Should be improved” disappears with “Good”

It’s slightly awkward and frustrating to see this to access and discover it’s a wrong message.

And the worst part is that this doesn’t always happen with the same sites. It’s 100% random. If I have 30 sites, it happens with 3 or 4 every day but like a coin toss.

Here is my big question: how can I discover what MainWP is “fetching” from the site health module, to get to that conclusion? One of two: or MainWP health check is buggy or there is a real “health issue” but I cannot pick it on time to debug. But either of the two, is beyond my control.

    Any suggestions?

    Hi @sirlouen,

    Thanks for reaching out.

MainWP fetches the health score from child sites, it doesn’t calculate it by itself. If there is the “Should be improved” status, it just means that the child site reported this in the last sync. However, since the status is not monitored in realtime, but it is synced when you sync your sites, there can be “inaccurate” data when the status changes between two syncs.

To minimize this behavior, you can set the MainWP Dashboard to auto-sync more often. This option is available in the MainWP > Settings.

I’m not into this WP module and have not read much about it, but I must assume that there is a WP function that returns just the Health score without additional info.

To minimize this behavior, you can set the MainWP Dashboard to auto-sync more often. This option is available in the MainWP > Settings.

Still, this doesn’t convince me for the following reasons:

For example, If I sync the sites on the fly, the “Should be improved” stays there. As soon as I enter the Health Check site-health.php, it shows immediately “Good”. If I sync MainWP again, then it changes to “Good”.

I’m not confident if MainWP can Force Re-check a site health before retrieving this information (instead of just retrieving the information regardless of the state) or if MainWP could see and retrieve the status checks before retrieving the data.

Otherwise, this function is plain useless and buggy (both in the MainWP and the WP Site Health behalf).

Just to inform you and give some context of the problematic situation in case you would like to improve it.

    Hi @sirlouen,

Thanks for getting back to us.

MainWP does not force a Health status check, it only returns detected status to the Dashboard. This is by design, so I wouldn’t say that it’s buggy.

Please feel free to join the MainWP Community and post your suggestions and remarks to the Features section.

Since there are no bugs here, I will go ahead and close this support request.

    Thanks
