    Hi Michael,

Sorry to hear you feel we’ve “hijacked” the Site Health. We’ve simply added an extra tab to it, as per WordPress’ built API/features – this is how plugins are designed work – by augmenting already existing WordPress features. We haven’t modified any other standard/pre-existing data/tabs on the Site Health screen, and we’ve kept Shield’s security-specific site health information contained to its own, separate tab.

There is currently no option within Shield to disable the addition of the Site Health security tab, at this time. But we can add a WP filter so you can do so, if you need, for our next release.

Until that filter is provided, if you no longer wish to have Shield’s security information in the site health page, which incidentally has been available for over 1 year and this is the first complaint of its kind, then you’ll need to remove the Shield plugin from the site.

Let us know if you’d like us to provide a WP filter to modify this behaviour.

    Thanks

Hi Paul, I’d prefer not to have all these messages being displayed within Site Health. Previously the Site Health showed none of them, and these messages are all pointing to areas of the Shield Security plugin dashboard that I do not want to enable currently. If it is possible to have a code snippet to modify that behaviour it would be great, thank you.

We’ll provide a filter and code snippet for our next patch/release so you’ll be able to disable the Site Health additions. Please check the changelog when the next release is out for guidance on how to use that. Thanks for the feedback.

That’s great Paul – thank you. I couldn’t see the info about the next release date on the link you sent?

We don’t publish information about future releases. When you see our next update available for the plugin, you’ll see the details of the changes on that changelog page.

Hi Paul, please can you tell me if Shield is compatible with BlackHole Pro (https://plugin-planet.com/blackhole-pro/)? When I tested the BlackHole link (https://reclaimdesign.org/?blackhole=3c3a51027c) this evening it threw up a Shield message instead of the previous one that was set up within BlackHole Pro, which is why I’m asking. Thank you for your help.

If you run 2x security plugins and they’re both trying to intercept and analyse requests at the same time, then you could potentially see issues, or unexpected/strange results – particularly in your activity logs.

What was the message that Shield gave you?
