Site health error: background updates not working

  • My site health screen says the error “background updates are not working as expected.” It also says “Some files are not writable by WordPress:
    wp-load.php.” I think I have to change file permissions, but am not sure how exactly to do this. Thank you for the help!

  • Usually, file permission is set to 644 and directory is 755. If you do not know how to fix the permission issue, you would want to contact your webhosting support team for help.
