• Hello, I was directed here from WordPress.com. On a client’s site in their Site Health section, they have a critical error that reads as follows:
Your site could not complete a loopback request.
Loopback requests are used to run scheduled events, and are also used by the built-in editors for themes and plugins to verify code stability.

The loopback request to your site failed, this means features relying on them are not currently working as expected.
Error: cURL error 28: Operation timed out after 10000 milliseconds with 0 bytes received (http_request_failed)

I asked the client reached out to their hosting provider as well, and this was their response:

Okay, so this appears to be an issue with the theme or a plugin you have installed. I’m not seeing any other site or server configuration issues, past that. Loopback requests are curl requests, so I checked for mixed content issues. I also tested with the plugins disabled and still saw the issue.

My recommendation would be to reach out to the theme developer or the associated support team and provide the errors I located below. They will likely be able to provide the best troubleshooting for getting this issue fixed.

Did you disable all plugins and themes? The error posted above points to a theme issue.

In the response from the hosting provider, they said they checked for the issue with the plugins disabled and the error was still there.

But with a twenty* default theme active as well? It doesn’t sound like it. If there is no issue with the theme swapped out, I recommend seeking assistance through the theme’s dedicated support channel.
