New site, breakingbooks.com. Today I went to look at the site and on Firefox there’s nothing there but a white page. On Opera I get: Remote server or file not found You tried to access the address https://breakingbooks.com/, which is currently unavailable.

Today I installed a bunch of plugins, so likely that’s too blame. The two I suspect most likely to cause trouble are WordPress SEO by Yoast (because it messes with lots of stuff especially permalinks) and the Coming Soon plugin (because if it fails who knows what would come up?) but there are others, which I can list.

I did not change the themes, though I did put in some scripts into the header.php, one for Yoast’s Breadcrumbs and the other for Google Analytics.

I saw that one of the plugins had generated an .htaccess file, so the first thing I did was to delete that because I know WordPress’s fresh install doesn’t include one and that can definitely change your site…but deleting that didn’t remedy the problem.

I’ve deactivated *all* the plugins and the problem remains.

Fortunately, I can still access the WP admin area, so I know everything is still there. Any idea how I can get the front page to come back? If I know how to do that I can troubleshoot which plugin is causing the problem.

OK, I just took out the code for the Yoast plugin and everything is fine now. I’ll leave this so others can see it.
