Hi, a site I run was hacked. It’s back up and I was able to reinstall the child theme and since I had downloaded all the uploads (images) I was able to reupload them. When I am looking at the dashboard everything looks just fine, posts look right, pages look right, etc., but if I try to actually view a page or post I get a 404 error…? The home page isn’t looking quite right but if you try to actually pick a post or page then you get the 404. I’m sorry if this is a super obvious question!

    The site is strongerwithJenG.com

    Thanks!

  • Try refreshing your permalinks and see if that changes anything. Settings > Permalinks > click on the “Save Changes” button and see if WordPress will repair or create a new .htaccess for you. If that doesn’t help, try resetting to the default permalink structure and see if that fixes it. If it does, you will have a good idea where you might need to start looking for issues.

Thanks! I remember reading that but it fell out of my head in all the panic.

For anyone else that comes along when you do what Clayton said, you don’t need to actually DO anything on that page other than just scroll to the bottom and click on “save changes.”
