Site got hacked

  • My site got hacked so they recreated my account.. Good thing I have a backup files.

    Unfortunately, when I uploaded the backup files, my site still doesn’t load: only an “Error” message.

    The webhosting company told me that I should repair the database via MySQL icon in your cPanel and/or via phpMyAdmin. They also said that if it still doesn’t work, I can sought help from https://www.www.remarpro.com

    So now, that’s what I’m doing. How can I bring back my old files?

    Please help. I really don’t know what to do right now except ask for somebody’s help.

  • I think probably you may not have recreated the database associated with the blog?

    Either that or username/password/database name is wrong in wp-config.php

    how do i know if it’s the exact database for the blog? anyway, that’s the only database I have before (i think).

    i’m getting really confused with wordpress.

    I’ve looked at the wp-config.php file, and I think the codes fit. Waaaah, can you please elaborate? thanks. =)

    define(‘DB_NAME’, ‘myDatabaseName’); // make sure the correct database name with no spaces is inputted here

    check other fields similarly, do you have the proper username, password, any of these things not being right will prevent your blog being back up and running.

    i’ve done the “DB_NAME”, yeah, you’re right. it was different. =D i added “sql” at the end of my former database name so that it would be the same with my current database.

    but then, do i also need to add “sql” on my:

    ~~~~~~~
    define(‘DB_USER’, ‘________’); // Your MySQL username
    ~~~~~~~

    …so that it would be the same on my current database?

    where can i possibly find my Database username and password? sorry for being so ignorant.
