• Hi the styling has dissapeard from my site.

Its as if the style sheets wernt linked up properly but they are.

I got a 505 error on the site and uploaded a backup version of the htaccess file which cured the 505 error but left the site looking like this https://www.macgen.co.uk

    Any ideas?

    No, they’re not, They’re all 404s.

    Hi, Drumack—

It looks like the url for all of your linked assets is wrong and they’re each individually throwing 404s. The links look like:

    https://www.macgen.co.uk/home/wp-content/themes/…

Taking out the /home/ directory in there seems to work. You’ll want to look at how you’re generating those links in your header & footer.

    Good luck!

(Edit: Esmi beat me to it!)

Sorry the home page was initially throwing a 404 error that is what i was trying to fix when i got the error. All the internal pages work just fine they don’t throw up a 404 error.
So it has nothing to do with that.

i only edited the site through the admin system not through dreamweaver. I changes the permalinks to point to https://www.macgen.co.uk/home and then i all went wrong!!

What about if i updated the DB on the server with the backed up DB. Perhaps that might solve the problem?

If you’d mentioned this earlier, it would have saved a lot of time. First, change the urls back. See Changing_The_Site_URL
