• I removed

    '%s/images/headers/circle.png',

    (whole section:

    $args = array(
    		// Text color and image (empty to use none).
    		'default-text-color'     => '220e10',
    		'default-image'          => '%s/images/headers/circle.png',

    pretty far up on the page)

    from the “custom header” code in the editor of theme twentythirteen, which apparently was very stupid, because since then the whole site is gone; can’t access anything, can’t even get to a log in window or a dashboard or whatever – once I type the address of the site all I get is a blank screen.
    Help, anyone?

  • Okay…. a main reason we DO NOT edit WP core files…. but you’ve already learned the hard way ??

    You are going to need to use either FTP or your hosts cPanel to gain access into your file directories where you installed WordPress.

    1) Download a fresh copy of your theme. 2013 here
    2) Extract the .zip file of the theme to your computer.
    3) Locate the same file you were editing in your site (“custom header”).

    Now… you are going to need to take the fresh file you extracted (no modifications); and upload it to your server; replacing the one already there.

    Confirm you want to over-write the existing file.

    Once done… you should have access back into your website.

    And… we’re back!
    Thanks a ton, and, yep, ain’t gonna mess with any phootin core files anymore ever.
    Saved my day (night, rather); thanks again (shoulda listened to myself telling me keep your hands off stuff you have absolutely no idea what it is or how it works…).

    Oh well, almost:
    Site’s back online, but after log in (to edit the site the conservative way…) I still get a blank screen instead of the regular /wordpress/wp-admin/ view. Which I find fascinating in an odd way. And as far as I remember I didn’t screw with any files other than the one that I have just successfully replaced.
    Any ideas?

    So are you unable to enter your admin panel? Rather, unable to get any admin pages to load?

    yep.

    Are you sure you did not alter any other 2013 files?

    Perhaps try re-uploading the entire 2013 theme folder… over-writing whatever you have in that themes folder.

    Navigate to the ‘wp-content/themes/’ directory. Once there, replace the entire 2013 theme.
