    Hi,

I just installed the latest version of Xcloner (3.0.9) on a WP3.8.1 install

    Activated plugin

added the folders administrator/backups to the root
(same level as wp-content etc appear)

    set folders permissions to 755

When I try to open the plugin on the WP dashboard (backend)

My site appears with the wp dashboard menues next to it. Its like instead of the plugin’s backend settings area theres a framed version of my site there.

    I tried the following:

Deactivated all other plugins except Xcloner- no change

I use Better WP security so I renamed my htaccess file in case that was causing problems.

Now I get the WP dashboard menues but the area where the settings for the plugin should be is now grey (blank)

Set everythingback as it was and back to the framed version of my site on the dashboard.

I then deleted the plugin and uploaded it manually to the plugins folder – no change

Tried adding an administrator/backups folders above my site’s root (just in case) no change

Tried changing the administrator/backups permisions to 777

    no change!

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

  • Hi Big_Rich, have you tried a WordPress default theme for testing purposes?

    Hi mbrsolution

    I have now ??

And unfortunately it made no difference.

One thing I hadn’t noticed before which I think might give someone a clue is that the framed version of the site where the backend of the plugin should appear is fully active.

It starts off as a 404 page but if you click on “home” it goes to the homepage and is a fully working versio of the site.

Also the toobar up the top that you (the one you get when you’re logged in to wp) is there which allows you to enter the desktop within the framed site and get to the desktop, go to plugins…..etc…

If you keep going you get a desktop within a desktop within a desktop…

I thought that this might gve someone who knows more about this stuff a clue.

    Thanks again!

Try and create a .htaccess file inside the xcloner plugin folder(wp-content/plugins/xcloner-backup-and-restore/ ) and add this code to it:

    RewriteEngine Off

    Hope it helps!

    That fixed it – Thanks!
