• Hi guys,
    Thanks to all the wonderful support in this forum, I have finally got my site up and running. It is located at https://www.davesadventure.com

    I worked really hard on the design and would absolutely LOVE any feedback anyone could provide on ANY aspect of the site.

    I am going on my world tour starting in two weeks and would be grateful for any ideas to improve the site. It is GOING to eb a travelogue and I hope the design reflects that.

    Anyway, I look forward to any responses.
    Thanks
    Dave

    0_0 Wow, very nice Kubrick-based design. My only suggestion would be to post a screenshot at the Kubrick Flickr/Support group (once it’s back online, of course).

    It looks great! The only suggestion I have is to change WordPress to WordPress. :0)

    It’s a really slick design. Well done!

    That gives me an idea for a plugin… ;)

    Thanks for the replied guys. Very much appreciated.
    Ok, I fixed the lower case “p” bug ??

    Any other feedback/suggestions?

    Dave,
    Just had a peek at your registration form. It’s a bit messy ?? and there is a blank box under the password box. Is that meant for re-typing your password? If it is, it would be nice to include a label that tells the user that is what you want, otherwise a person either ignores it or has to guess what to do.

    Also, not sure why, but it took a loooong time to switch over to your photo gallery. Your photos aren’t huge, either. Not sure what’s up with that.

    Thanks for the reply. Fixed the registration form and cleared a lot of overhead in my gallery tables.

    Any other feedback?
    I would really like some suggestions on additions to make now before I leave. Something travel related.

    Nice Travel Site Dave. It looks great! Can you tell me how you get the weather data to your site? Thanks and have fun travelling.

    Hey Frankcode. Thanks for the comments on the site.
    Im in the middle of integrating the BBPRESS DB (www.davesadventure.com/discuss), so the whole site is a bit messy right now. Validation SHOULD be done when all is finished. Not before. Stupid me.

    Anyway, I get the weather info using….. tada…. a wonderful plugin. Which just checking the name realised that I forgot to credit it!

    It can be found here: https://www.sonicpling.net/

    I have the admin area set up with a link to templates.php file so I can easily change my location in the index.php file. Here is how the current function call looks: (All ready for my travels)

    <h2 id="currentlyin">I am currently in:</h2>
    <?php WeatherIcon('EIDW','Dublin, Ireland') ?>
    <?php //WeatherIcon('VTCC','Chang Mai, Thailand') ?>
    <?php //WeatherIcon('ZGGG','Guanghou, China') ?>
    <?php //WeatherIcon('VHHH','Central Hong Kong') ?>
    <?php //WeatherIcon('YPPH','Perth, Australia') ?>
    <?php //WeatherIcon('YSSY','Sydney, Australia') ?>
    <?php //WeatherIcon('NFFN','Nadi, Fiji') ?>

    I’m sure that needs no further explaination. ??

    At the risk of going on a further rant, Ill save the rest for my blog!

    cianuro, I would be interested to hear about the intergration of WordPress and bbPress, plus the small features you will be adding (Profiles and Avatar)
