site down- hosting company cant fix?

  • Hi All,

    Can anyone help me please?

    I was simply updating some plugins last night and my site went down

    https://www.newearthsanctuary.org.uk/

    So I tried to put it into debug mode using the wp-config file and it did not respond
    So I put the word disabled next to the plugin folder to disable all plugins through my FTP – nothing

    So I went to each plugin and renamed them to add ‘disabled’ to each and every one of them – site did not respond

    Contacted hosting company, they could fixed it and said they would get a technician and would call back later

    4 hours later, this is there email – can anyone help me please

    You already tried disabling plugins.

    – To rule out any theme-specific issue, try switching to the unedited default theme for a moment using the WP dashboard. If you don’t have access to your admin area, you can switch to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder in wp-content/themes via FTP or SFTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

    Looks like the hosting company change the theme folder to theme-old, I changed it back, then when in and just changed the one I was using to name-old

    Still a white down page

    Just got the site back up all, thanks for the input here.

    Can I just go and reactive things, plugin & themes, I don’t know why that happened

    All good? It looks that way to me in Chrome on a Kindle FireHD.
