    I get this if I go to wp-admin –

    Error establishing a database connection
This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at localhost:3306. This could mean your host’s database server is down.

Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
Are you sure that the database server is running?
If you’re unsure what these terms mean you should probably contact your host. If you still need help you can always visit the WordPress Support Forums.

Change the urls back. See Changing_The_Site_URL for details of how to do this correctly without logging in.

Hi Esme, thanks for the response however we cannot get to the wordpress installation at all? We have worked through some of the options in config.php and in the sql database but nothing. We may need an experts help (paid of course). We are very worried here.

Put everything back the way it was and try re-reading the page at the link I posted above. None of the suggestions made require you to login to your WordPress dashboard.

Apologies a roll back is not an option. Sadly we need to fix the site on the new domain.

Pardon? Why can you not move everything back?

Sorry I misread that, a little stressed), I thought you meant transfer in back to the original domain of course. I didn’t release you meant my recent changes. I will work through that document more thoroughly.
