site doesn't show up on IPAD

Thank you for your help. I removed that plugin and am now using a different one. However, that wasn’t a complete fix. Now, at least something shows up, but all that shows up is the banner and the navigation bar. Everything else is just a blank white page below it. Thanks for any suggestions you can give me.

Try deactivating all plug-ins and see if it’s okay. Then activate them one by one to see which one may be causing the problem.

I deactivated all the plug-ins and there was no change. Any other idea? Thanks for trying to help.

Okay everyone, I found out what the problem is but now I need to know what to do to fix it. When the site is made small, the content disappears. The border, heading and navigation show up. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes, I’ve been looking at that very thing — that’s why it does not show on an iPad — because it’s narrower. So try again to deactivate all plug-in and change to the twentyeleven theme. Also try resetting the plug-ins folder. (Those are the standard troubleshooting steps.) See if you still have the problem then.

I really prefer the theme Yoko to twentyeleven. Also, I have had to do lots of adapting of the twentyeleven theme in order to get it to look similar to the design I had built on Yoko. It is close, but not the same. And I don’t like the left side sidebar. I have found that the website contents do show up on IPAD with twentyeleven but I am trying to see if I can make the website content show up with Yoko. So far I have not been successful.

I may have to look at other themes to see if I can find one I like better that works. Do you have any suggestions of other themes?

What about with all plug-ins off? Did you fix the CSS errors?

I fixed the CSS errors that I could, but not the ones in the Slideshow plugin. I turned all the plugins off and it still didn’t work. Besides, I want to use the plugins that I activated.

I have to do some more configuring, but I have found a Theme that seems to work: WeaverII. (I haven’t had it checked in IPAD, but it should work, as I can still see the content when I make the site smaller.) Thanks for your help and feedback. It doesn’t look as good in IE, but I dislike IE and only use it to check my sites.

Yeah, IE definitely sucks even now (improved from old versions). And Weaver is an excellent theme with good dedicated support, so check that out too. Good luck with the site — it looks good and it’s certainly a worthwhile subject/cause as well :).

Thanks. I do a freebie once or twice a year and this was one of them. Pizza Klatch was started by a parent who was able to help her then high school aged son before he committed suicide. He is now in college and feeling good about himself.

One more nitpicky thing I need to fix. The name of each page appears twice. I would really like to get rid of one of them (preferably the smaller one under the nav bar and above the larger name.) I am not adept yet at figuring out pages that are generated by code. If you can point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it.

Those are “breadcrumbs” and there may well be an option to turn them off in the theme options, but if not, you can do it in the CSS like this:

    display: none;
}

Thanks a bunch. Breadcrumbs are a new one on me. Although I have used WordPress to build blogs for clients, this is the first time I have used it for a whole website. Not a bad way to go, once I get the hang of it.
