    Hi Belinda,

Google is showing the description you entered in All in One SEO Pack. Type the following into Google and you’ll see this:

    site:www.togetherco.com

Google does not have to display your description, it never has. Google can show whatever they want to and many times they’ll display a description they believe is more meaningful based on the search term. You can’t force Google to display your description.

    Thanks for your response.

Unless you type it with the www, it returns the following under the title in search engines, even though I’ve customised the seo for the home page snippet:

Initializing… stage: 320×240 file: https://www.togetherco.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/20140730_VisReel_Smaller2.mp4 autoplay: false preload: none …

Just trying to get rid of this. Any suggestions?

I don’t see that. If I perform a site search for togetherco.com (without the www) I get this –

Togetheco Pty Ltd a Creative Company
    https://www.togetherco.com/
A creative company for the digital age built on the simple premise that the industry needs a new, updated version of the full service agency model.

You can resubmit your homepage to Google using Google Webmaster Tools and you should definitely read what they say about www vs non-www here – https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/44231?hl=en

That is true, but most people would search togetherco to look up the company, and then they will find the snippet (which doesn’t look great for a digital branding company):

Initializing… stage: 320×240 file: https://www.togetherco.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/20140730_VisReel_Smaller2.mp4 autoplay: false preload: none …

You MUST resubmit your homepage to Google if you want them to update their index for that page. Alternatively you can just be patient and wait for them to update their index which could be days, weeks or even months depending on how often they crawl your site. Given that it doesn’t look like you have an XML Sitemap for your site I’d say your only chance of them updating their index is for you to submit the site to them and then wait.

This is nothing to do with All in One SEO Pack, this is just simply a fact that you have not submitted your site to Google and you’re hoping that they’ll just crawl your site and update their index. If you don’t tell Google you changed your site then they’re not going to know about the change. When and whether they update their index is entirely up to them and you cannot force them to do either.

Thanks so much for your help! I’ve followed all of your advice. Submitted sitemaps, and resubmitted page.

    Have a great day!
