• I recently changed the font on my site from Open Sans 300 to Open Sans 400 to make it more legible. The site description (“Artist and Printmaker”) I changed by ccs as I could not find any other way of doing it. While this has worked on the desktop version fine, on the tablet and mobile versions of the site description remains in Open Sans 300. Does anybody know a way of fixing this? Thanks in advance.

  • Hi! This is a bit outside the scope of the theme support we can offer, but for what it’s worth, when I’ve seen cases like this, it’s that that particular font face wasn’t loaded. It could also be that Google opts against displaying that face on mobile for whatever reason, so you might check for info from their support, too.

    I hope this helps!

In this case I suspect the issue is that your custom CSS is nested within the mobile style declaration noted in this screenshot: https://d.pr/i/lbCf49

Essentially, the styles below that one adopt the same min/max dimensions, so that is why you don’t see the 400 weight font on mobile, that style only applies to viewports that are larger than what you would find on a phone.

    Hope this helps!
