Site crashes each time I update a post or page

  • Every time I update a post or page when I go to view the page I get an error saying your site is undergoing maintenance.

    This happens for about 20 seconds and then the site returns?

    I have no idea where to start looking to fix this, my main concern is that it gets worse and actually does crash

  • What you describe is definitely not normal WordPress behavior. It sounds to me more like you are using a caching plugin which resets the cache after updating content. And while it’s doing that everything is switched off for a short time – highly unusual and of course not very advantageous.
