Hello, I have used Yoast for a number of years. Updating when requested was never a problem. Now my site continually crashes after plugin update. It wouldn’t bother me so much but I have to get my host provider to get me going again. I want to continue using Yoast. If it is conflicting with another plugin, how can I find out which one? Please feel free to refer to this KB article — https://kb.yoast.com/kb/white-screen-when-activating-or-updating-plugin/

You may need to do a conflict check to see if there is a conflicting plugin or theme. Can you confirm you are using the latest version of WordPress 4.9.8?

Hi Michael thanks for getting back to me. I am using the latest wordpress. Its been happening for about four months now, it only happens with a Yoast update but not every single time, making it difficult in deciding which is the conflicting plugin if any. Do you think any of these four plugins could be the problem.
    1 AMP
    2 WP Fastest cache
    3 WP Optimize
    4 Glue for Yoast
I really want to activate Yoast again.

Unfortunately we can’t say whether another specific plugin would cause a conflict. Can you try and gather as much information for us as possible? Please perform the following:

    1. Make sure the issue doesn’t persist when Yoast SEO is disabled.
    2. Check for conflicts.
    3. Check for JavaScript errors with your console.
If you find any JavaScript errors related to Yoast SEO or if there is a conflict with a plugin or a theme, you can create a new GitHub issue for our developers. Please report the issue to a third party developer as well.

If you didn’t find any conflicts or errors, we think the issue is specific to your site. We’d need to investigate further but are unable to do so on these forums. You can purchase Yoast SEO Premium and receive our Premium email support and we can help you further.

Thanks for taking the time to get back to me Devnihil. My site always comes back on after my host technicians disable Yoast. I so much want to use it that I activated it again a few days ago. Its working fine at the moment, but thats what it does. An update has just come through from Yoast I am reluctant to update it. As for your kind suggestions, its way over my head. Alistair

The latest version of Yoast SEO for WordPress is v8.3. You would need to perform a conflict check to see if the Yoast SEO plugin is indeed conflicting with your theme or with one of your plugins.

If you install the Health Check plugin, you can disable all plugins and switch to a default theme like TwentySeventeen to determine if you indeed have a plugin or theme conflict. The good thing is, with the Health Check plugin, you can do this without affecting your live site. You can refer to this article for more information — https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-check-for-plugin-conflicts/#live-site

Hi I am starting off with site status re health status plugin. I have made several recommended changes but uncertain what to do with these two.
1 – PHP version – php is too low recommend php 7.2 or higher
2 – HTTPS status – You are not using HTTPS to access this website
Can you give me simple instructions on how to remedy this?

You can fix those by reaching out to your web hosting provider and installing an SSL on your site.
