• So I am relatively new to WordPress and have been experiencing issues. Before I explain just know I will post whatever you require to help me troubleshoot this issue.

When I go to my site, it loads no problem. I then load exapmle.com/wp-admin and my site “crashes” in the sense that I cannot load it anymore. My devices simply cannot connect to my site.

I am running it on LAMP and have a personally owned in home server.

Please let me know what you need me to provide and I will be hapoy to provide it.

    Thank you in advance.

  • Try deactivating all plugins on your site. You do this by renaming the plugin directory via FTP into ie. _plugins

Then try to load your site, and log in. If this helps, then you can start activating one plugin at a time, to see if any of them crashes your backend..

Okay so I disabled all of yhr plugins and got the same result. Loaded site once fine but this time I couldn’t even load wp-admin.

    Try:
    – switching to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by phpMyAdmin.

Okay esmi, so I tried the themes step, and even restarted my server, but I still am unable to connect to the site. As far as resetting the plugins folder by phpMyAdmin, I actually do everything over SSH from my main computer to the server. Is there a way I can setup phpMyAdmin on my main computer to connect and manager my server?

You have to have Phpmyadmin installed on configured on the “remote” web server.

Okay, that I do have but I am guessing I have to either use it directly or vnc in to use it?

You should be able to use it directly if you are managing the server.

I setup a vnc server through SSH because I don’t have a monitor attached to my server. I tried loading https://localhost/phpmyadmin and get “unable to connect”. Any ideas why?
