Site Crashed

  • Hi,

    I recently tried to edit my index template from saying the_content to saying the_excerpt. Unfortunately this made my site crash. Now I get the HTTP 500 message that the site is under maintenance or has a programming error. I was able to undo the coding by pasting the original template in the index template, but I still get the error message. I have no clue how to fix my site. Help!

    Do ypu see a .maintenance file in the root dir of your blog? if yes, delete (or rename) it.

    Check server error logs for when you get that 500 error

    at the server.

    – if you don’t know how and where access them, contact youe hosting provider. they should point you in the right direction.

    – if this is a local server, error logs should be at your server (if you have them enabled).
