    Hello,

last update run (several plugins) made my test site crashing.

Access in recovery mode shows an error reported by your plugin (but I know it could be caused by something else)…

    Error is in French:

Une erreur de type E_COMPILE_ERROR a été causée dans la ligne 67 du fichier /var/www/html/wp-content/plugins/redux-framework/redux-core/inc/extensions/social-profiles/social-profiles/inc/class-redux-social-profiles-widget.php. Message d’erreur: Cannot declare class Extend_WP_Widget_Factory, because the name is already in use.

Note that the theme is Ekko 1.0 (yes, I know, it’s old).

The test site is not externally reachable but the production (not upgraded of course, can be reached at https://usergroup.atempo.com

    Thanks for your help

You may have to upgrade your theme. Or, go into the theme folder, locate the ‘social_profiles’ folder and delete it. NOT in Redux, but in the theme itself. They are using the outdated extension, and you’ll need to delete it.

Basically, the theme author needs to stop using that outdated version and allow Redux to load its updated version. I don’t know who that is, so you’d have to be the one to do so if you’re so inclined.

    Good luck.

    Hello,

    thanks for your quick reply.

social_profiles is part of KeyDesign_addon 2.8 apparently coming with Ekko theme but deleting folder make the site blank page and produces errors for KeyDesign addon that doesn’t load anymore !

So, I realize I have to work with Ekko and/or KeyDesign to upgrade but in the meantime, Redux Framework is de-activated.

I’ll put final touch here once completed but you can close this ticket from your side.

    Thanks again

It looks as if they fixed it in their 3.x release of their theme. There is nothing I can do about older theme releases or premium themes in general short of working privately with the theme author. Disabling Redux will disable the theme’s options. Unfortunately, the only clear path is to update the theme.
