Last night my site, hosted on getflywheel.com, crashed. The Flywheel techs were able to get it back up and going after about 1 hour. They tell me that the site was “was consistently maxing out its PHP processes,” so they increased the limits there.

They also tell me that they are “seeing a few hundred slow errors in the logs from Wordfence over the last 24 hours,” and that “it may be worth checking with them if they have any insight into these slow errors and how to remedy them.”

I have a copy of the log files. I’m not sure how to provide them in this forum.

    Advice appreciated. Lance

Hi @ln-cwm, thanks for getting in touch.

Whilst we are constantly working on making the plugin faster, perform better, and use less resources, there are not set amounts of RAM, CPU or database queries that we know Wordfence will definitely require in each use-case or hosting environment.

We’re always happy to take a look for anything that could clearly be causing issues. You can send the log files to wftest @ wordfence . com with your forum username in the subject. Let me know here when you have sent the message.

    Thanks,

    Peter.

    Hi @ln-cwm,

I have received the logs and it looks to me, although I will try to get further information from the development team, that there could be an issue with outbound/inbound communication. Could you possibly please also send me a supporting site diagnostic so we can also check for errors in your setup? Some of the remote_post() lines look like issues we see when servers can’t connect back to themselves due to a firewall or permissions issue.

Can you send a diagnostic report to wftest @ wordfence . com? You can find the link to do so at the top of the Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics page. Then click on “Send Report by Email”. Please add your forum username where indicated and respond here after you have sent it.

NOTE: It should look as follows – Screenshot of Tools > Diagnostic > Send by Email

    Thanks,

    Peter.
