The Code Snippet plugin (CSP) or a snippet in it has crashed my website. I reanimated the site by appending “?snippets-safe-mode=true” to the URL of the pages. Then I deleted the plugin. After that the website worked again. Then I downloaded the plugin anew and activated it anew … and before I inserted any snippet my website crashed anew. I reanimated the site anew (as described above) and deleted the plugin anew. Then I downloaded the plugin a third time, activated it … and before I inserted any snippet my website crashed for the third time.

Enabling safe mode does not actually disable or remove the snippet causing the issue. Instead of deleting and reinstalling the plugin, go to the Snippets menu and deactivate the problem snippet (or all snippets if you’re not sure which one).

I could not open the snippet menu. When i addressed the plugin in any way, the website crashed.

Then I decided to deactivate the plugin by giving the special “deactivate” command attached to the plugin (like to every other plugin). But the command did not work. Instead the page went white again. I had to reanimate the website again. Then I checked the plugin for a WordPress command and gave WordPress’s “deltete” command. That command worked. Or seemed to work. At least the whole plugin had vanished.

Then I downloaded the plugin aganin and activated it … and the website crashed again … and so forth.

For a cause I do not understand the Code Snippet plugin has reappeared on my dashbord. I could delete some suspicious snippets. The plugin seems to behave docilely now, and the website seems to be stable now.

Glad to hear that things are working.

For reference, enabling safe mode should have been enough to allow you to access the dashboard and disable the snippet with the error without needing to deactivate the whole plugin.

I installed Code Snippets plugin, activated it and had been working well since about 3weeks now. Then when I tried to activate a new snippet, my site crashed. I had to access the site remotely via FileZella to reactivate it. I deleted the plugin and the site works well without Code Snippets. I re-installed a fresh plugin without any snippets in it, but the site instantly crashed. I deactivated all plugins and reactivated them one at a time, as soon as I get to a fresh Code Snippets, site crashes. I cannot get to Snippets menu to choose a snippet to deactivate, unless I activate Code Snippets first which can’t happen.
