Site can’t be reached (my pc only, available on others)

  • After setting up wordpress through bluehost I have encountered an issue that is beyond my comprehension to fix! I have zero technological bones in my body so I need this broken down into dumby guide ?? My issue is that each time I try to get to my site either through bluehost or directly on the internet it keeps indicating “site can’t be reached. Took too long to respond”.

    This only happens on my laptop (the only computer I have) but works on my phone (wifi and data) and other computers that I’ve had friends login to to check. It’s clearly a fault on my computer but I don’t know where the problem is stemming from. I’ve cleared cache and cookies and tried various browsers but nothing has helped me reach wordpress through bluehost (I spent an hour on the phone with bluehost and they couldn’t help).

    Have you tried ipconfig /flushdns?

    Thanks for the response! No, unfortunately it works on every other computer/ device apart from mine ?? What is ipconfig/ flushdns?

    Google it for more information but it clears the DNS cache on the device like your laptop (it’s different to the cache in the browser which you have already tried), it might solve your problem. It’s done on your laptop just open CMD and type that line but read about it first in case you have to anything else after that.

    Did you try what I suggested and did it work?
